    A unique shopping experience...
Mint's goal is to provide a showcase for local designers and artisans who create quality goods, and to offer classes for children and adults. We have one-of-a-kind functional gift items and fashion accessories- great looking functional edgy bags from recycled inner tubes; Ineeka's Treleela Organic Teas; yummy Soy Candles; Juliet Jewelry; new Lavish Elements Jewelry; Malia Handbags; FIVE Accessory Bags; Deana Rose, Rapt in Maille Jewelry; Michelle Rubin Designs... shawls and scarves by She Complete and Gina Pannorfi; Loops Chicago headbands and reversible belts, Grateful not Greedy clothing, to stuff for baby: spoon and fork sets, wee jewelry, and clothes by Tiny by Design. We offer quote serving silverware and keychains, and bracelets and necklaces you can "write" yourself. It's the hottest stuff, made by our very own. From emerging artists to seasoned experts in their field, we have something in every price range... and most of it is environmentally friendly or empowering for people in need.

WE HAVE THE BEST handmade LEATHER BAGS ANYWHERE- check us out first. And a portion of the artist's profit goes to an organization fighting Domestic Violence.

Mint is located at 2150 N Seminary Ave, at the corner of Webster and Seminary.  Come spend a day on Webster St. There are great restaurants like John's Place, Local Option, and great shops- The Left Bank, McShane's Exchange, ShopGirl, Furla, Kaveri, Cotelac, Kangaroo Connection and Sweet Mandy B's for yummy treats.

Melissa Tierney, a former art school owner and clothing designer of the melissabrit and Grateful Not Greedy lines, bought Mint in June 2006. There are always talented students from the Art Institute of chicago working here.

"I love working with students. They inspire me, our boutique, our customers and artists. The store has a tangible energy when we're together. As for the products, I am meeting the most incredibly wonderful, heart-full artists and designers. What they envision and create honors the beauty within each of us, and the best of our culture and location... Chicago and this quirky part of the Midwest. We have an authentic urban-earthy feel. I am also having fun as Artistic Consultant, helping people with tricky half-finished bedrooms, deck gardens, party themes and decorations, even accessorizing. Sometimes we just need someone else's perspective to know what it is we want..

"Did you know that every day of the week you can bring in your jackets, jeans, sweaters and blazers for fashion updating- embroidery on a blue jean jacket, lace and new buttons on a velvet jacket, bows, patches, whatever it takes to turn that fashion staple into a fashion forward piece that will extend your wardrobe...Turn those jeans into capris or a skirt!"

Come take a class with us. Melissa has a BA in Art and did her master's studies at the Art Institute of Chicago. She teaches private lessons in any medium- your house or hers, besides the classes offered here on the website.

We get new one-of-a-kind items every week. AND you can order your own jewelry designs from one of our talented artists... Bridesmaid's jewelry, reunion mementos...you tell us...
